Do You Keep a Journal?

I would encourage you with all that I am to keep a written journal. It has literally changed my life.

I am not talking about a diary wherein you write down the daily activities of your life. I am talking about a journal wherein you write down thoughts, ideas, and inspirations. I once read that if you don’t write it down, it never happened. In other words think of it like this; have you ever had a great thought or idea and then just a little while later you can’t remember what it was or at least the details of it? Write it down. I believe God Himself inspires us with marvelous thoughts and ideas all the time and we simply lose them with time.

How has it changed my life? There is something about writing thoughts down that make them more real. Ideas that once existed only in my mind, now have taken on reality. On paper my ideas begin to grow, as positives and negatives are worked out. Things that I am praying about, scriptures that I am reading, all are great things to write down. As I focus on what I am writing, God can and does really speak through that still, small voice and those things become so much clearer. They become a real part of my life instead of just wishful thinking.

You can get an expensive leather journal or an inexpensive tablet, it all works the same. Go on, give it a try for a week or two. I think you’ll really get something out of it.

Habakkuk 2:2, And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.
