I don’t know if you have noticed but there is a HUGE chasm between certain portions of the American population regarding political/moral/ethical views.
- Republicans & Democrats
- Right & Left
- Conservatives & Liberals
- (Matt. 25:31-33)
Sure, there have always been opposing views. There have always been disagreements. But I actually remember a time when the opposing groups, though in disagreement, still had respect for one another.
I remember when I was a kid, members of my family would show support for different presidential candidates (for example). Even if my families choice of candidate lost the election and the opposing candidate won, I remember my family saying things like, “Well, so-in-so won. We need to get behind him and support him”. They did this out of respect for the office and our country.
Things have really changed.
But more than you may think.
The difference between the right and left is like daylight and dark (in that order).
The thing is, the right hears what the left says and is absolutely flabbergasted by what their arguments. I mean we cannot believe our ears at the upside down policies and beliefs the left holds. To those of us on the right, their views are completely illogical in every way.
Here’s the kicker….
The left thinks the same thing about us and our views. To them, our policies and views are completely upside down and backward, as well.
How can this be? One HAS to be right and one HAS to be wrong, right?
So polar opposite are the two sides today, so completely contrary is one to the other that there is hardly any grey area any more.
Why does the right think they are so…right, and can’t compromise to come to an agreement with the left?
Why does the left think they are so right and can’t compromise to come to an agreement with the right?
Last question: what is the best way the devil can undermine the greatest republic on earth?
Answer: The same way he has been undermining families and churches for years now. Disunity.
The illogic we see in some arguments can only be explained by spiritual influence. I firmly believe the chasm that exists between the two trains of thought is a direct result of spiritual warfare. Those who are influenced by what is good and right, at odds with those who call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20)
I leave you at the end of this short post with one thought: We are in the last of the last days. Be aware of the wiles of the devil. Pray hard and, in the Spirit, stand your ground!
What does God have for you…just around the corner?
