A Special Surprise – A Guest Writer This Week

Final

I have a very special treat this week. A guest writer. It is none other than my beautiful wife, Michelle.
I cannot begin to tell you what an encouragement and counselor she is to me. The answers to many years of prayers are wrapped up in her.
Let’s read what is on her heart…

Most of you know that the year 2014 has been a very challenging and victorious year for my family. Throughout all the ups and downs there is a phrase that I have incorporated into my daily walk with the Lord.  A very special friend of mine shared it with me and I quote it often, Trust and Believe, Trust and Believe.  Seems simple but these are two powerful words that, when put into action, will change your life.

One of the greatest things the Lord has taught me this past year regarding those two words is that it is not always easy to do them. Our flesh wants to trust and believe in things we can see and hear, but God commands us to do just the opposite. Hebrews 11:1, Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Even during the times when you are struggling to believe because of what you may hear or see, you have to act like you believe; you have to speak like you believe, you have to pray like you believe and, in doing that, you will discover that you really do believe!! It is an awesome process.

Kyle preached at Huron Baptist Church this past Sunday (the 7th at the time of this writing) and in his sermon he talked about being obedient and what goes along with that. Our closing hymn was Trust and Obey. I love the old hymns. They have such great messages in them. The Holy Spirit really spoke to me during this hymn. Instead of singing the song, read the words and really listen to them.

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,

What a glory He sheds on our way!

While we do His good will, He abides with us still,

And with all who will trust and obey.

Refrain:

Trust and obey, for there’s no other way

To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,

But His smile quickly drives it away;

Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,

Can abide while we trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,

But our toil He doth richly repay;

Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,

But is blessed if we trust and obey.

But we never can prove the delights of His love

Until all on the altar we lay;

For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,

Are for them who will trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet,

Or we’ll walk by His side in the way;

What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;

Never fear, only trust and obey.

What an awesome message in this song! We can take comfort in knowing that to trust and obey is to live our lives in total surrender to Jesus, expecting to witness great wonders and miracles! In the trusting, and obeying, and doing His good will we will see that Jesus really is EVERYTHING we need!

Amazon Stre

Anything you purchase from Amazon through the EKM site helps to fund EKM Ministries. It does not cost any more than shopping directly through Amazon and if you are a Prime member, nothing changes. It simply gives EKM Ministries a small “finders fee”.

You are not limited to what is on the EKM store site. If you want to purchase an electronic mouse trap, then by all means, purchase an electronic mouse trap.

Click the “Powered by Amazon” button in the top right bar and you will be taken to Amazon. Through here, EKM will still get credit.

Thank you so much for your support and remember to do your Amazon Christmas shopping through this EKM Amazon Store. I just wouldn’t recommend an electronic mouse trap as a gift.

Lord bless you and yours!
