Question: Do you have a creative side?
This post is going to be a little different than most I have ever done. I was thinking the other day about how many people I have met that are soooo talented and creative. I have met people who are creative in so many different ways and many of these people have been such a blessing to me and my family.
As I thought about this, I began to be thankful, as the realization washed over me that God had blessed each of these folks with their respective talents, and so grateful that they are using their creativity for God’s glory and for the benefit of others.
Are you using your creativity and gifts for God?
Gen 1:27 – “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
God created us in His own image. We are crafted in the image of THE Creator. The word“create” is used 3 times in this verse. Since we are made in the image of God, we get all the gifts that are alive in that image: Love, Patience, Grace, Kindness, and of course CREATIVITY! Accept and embrace the fact you have been crafted in His image today and accept His permission for you to be the creative person He made you to be!
Proverbs 22:29 – “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
God wants us to be good stewards of the gifts He has given us. This verse encourages us to take pride in and be good at what we do. Being skilled takes practice, and creativity comes through exercise. It takes work to get better creatively. Practice your craft and steward it well so when it is time to share your gift you are prepared. Your creativity reflects who you are but also who He is!
Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
This verse encourages you to share your gift with the world! Good works are not just the doing of good deeds, when God created the universe He said it was ‘good’. Just like acts of service encourage people, so does your creative service. Allow God to speak and minister through your gifts.
Colossians 3:23 – “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;”
We get to create! We don’t have to create, we get to create and be creative in service, encouragement, and love toward others. We have to remember Who has given us our ability to dream, to conceive, to write, paint, design, speak, cook, call, change a light bulb, clean, and make…these are all acts of worship.
