I think most people who read my posts (or suffer through them maybe?) know that our son has cancer. Please go back a few posts and re-read my thanks to all of you for your prayers. (found on 2/26)
I asked Missy if it was alright to share this and she said yes. We were talking and praying one night recently and she shared a revelation God had given her, as she was praying the morning before.
She had told me in years past that when Jayd was just a little baby, she gave him to God. She professed that Jayd was His and his future was His also.
Yesterday morning (I’m not sure when you are reading this but the date was March 9th, 2014), as Missy prayed, the Holy Spirit brought that to her mind. He reminded her how that she had given Jayd to Him 20+ years ago. The anguish she felt in that moment, considering all that Jayd may have to suffer through with the chemotherapy, washed away and the realization that God loves Jayd far more than even his own mother does, caused a “peace that passeth understanding” to come over her and she was once again reminded that God is in control.
As we prayed together that night, she cried out to God. From the heart of a mother, she cried out just like the father in Mark 9:23-24, Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.
“ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE TO HIM THAT BELIEVETH”. There is faith that we all can have on a daily basis. We should strive to grow that faith, to increase that faith by way of exercise. There is also the gift of faith, an extra measure given by God Himself at times when it is needed. The gift of faith is one of the gifts of the Spirit of God Himself (see 1 Cor. 12:9). That night, we gained some extra faith. We believe, we know, Jayd is being and will be healed.
Thank God Almighty that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Do you believe? Ask Him to help your unbelief.
What does God have for you…just around the corner?
