Believe…and then Believe Some More

Will my prayer be answered?

Continuing on the theme of my last post, as well as continuing with chapter 2 of my book, it is vitally important we understand God’s attitude toward us. Somewhere along the way, someone got the idea that God is mad at us for being sinners. Let’s be clear: He hates the sin but He LOVES the sinner.

He is your Father and He really does want an abundant life for you. And He certainly has the resources to answer prayer with. Your Father owns the cattle on a thousand hills. Your Father owns the earth and the fullness thereof.

Remember the cake from a couple of posts ago; in order to really believe, picture what it is you are praying for in your mind’s eye. See it, really see it, in every detail just as though you already had it in your possession. If you really believe, then you will act like it.

Here are some steps to try…

1. Center your thoughts on the thing you are praying for. Visualize it. Make a mental image of it. This is planting the seed of belief.
2. Read the 91st and 23rd Palms, just as a reminder of God’s power and His readiness to help you in your needs.
3. BE THANKFUL, not merely for past favor, but for the granting of God’s favor you are now asking.
4. BELIEVE! See it as an accomplished fact. When the thought of it occurs to you and doubt and fear creeps in, say to yourself, “God is attending to that”, and KNOW that He is.
NoDoubt
Our prayers are answered when we truly believe, in other words, our prayers are answered when our thoughtsandactionsandwords coincide with our prayer. Think about that, our thoughts, our actions, and our words should line up with our prayers, which is no more than a demonstration of our faith. James said, “Show me your faith without works and I will show you my faith BY my works.”

How important is belief? In Matthew 13, the Lord Jesus Himself, Who obviously had faith to move mountains, “did not many mighty works there (Nazareth) because of their unbelief“.

How do we gain this kind of belief? We’ll look into that next time.

What does God have for you…jut around the corner?
