40 Days of Prayer Begins Today

40 Days of Prayer

September 28, 2012 Day 1:
Dear Father in Heaven, in Jesus’ name I humbly approach Your throne. You are worthy
of all praise and glory. Great is Your faithfulness, Oh Lord. We fully understand and are
grateful for the fact that America was birthed first in Your heart. We acknowledge that
America has been a blessed nation above all the nations of the world. Hallelujah!
But we also acknowledge that we have forgotten as a people that it was You and Your
laws that made this country the land of freedom and opportunity that has been the envy
of the world for more than two hundred years. Dear Lord, forgive us of our pride and
apathy that has allowed men to call good, evil; and evil, good. We acknowledge that we
have grown calloused to the daily deluge of sinful activity, degradation and speaking that
has become the routine in American life, and we repent.
Reignite our love for purity and holiness, and create in us a will to initiate the changes in
our society that will allow You to once again bless our beloved America. Awaken the
Pastors and Christians of America to fall on their knees and repent of their sins, so that
You can heal our land. Start with us who pray this prayer.
We love You and adore You, precious Lord. May we see a great awakening in our
generation! This, I pray, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Pray for our Leaders

Vice President Joe Biden
Attorney General Eric Holder
Chief Justice John Roberts
Justice Samuel Alito
Justice Anthony Kennedy
Justice Elena Kagan
Justice Sonja Sotomayor

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
Justice Stephen Breyer
Justice Antonin Scalia
Justice Clarence Thomas
US Representatives:
Gary L. Ackerman

Robert B. Aderholt
W. Todd Akin
Rodney Alexander
Jason Altmire
Justin Amash
Mark E. Amodei
Robert E. Andrews
Steve Austria
Joe Baca
US Senators:
Daniel K. Akaka (DHI)
Lamar Alexander (RTN)
We ask that You turn their hearts towards You, Lord. We ask that You soften their
hearts, Lord, to recognize and receive truth. Lord, we ask that you grant them the
understanding and knowledge that come from the fear of You. We ask that you grant
them wisdom and discernment, Lord, and that you make them bold to do what is right in
Your sight. Lord, we ask that you direct their hearts to do Your will. Amen.
