Recognizing God

We had a great breakfast Saturday morning. The food was good and the fellowship was even better. What a sweet spirit in the congregation at Pinson. So many worked hard yesterday: the baptistery was filled, new sound equipment (bigger sound board, lapel mike, CD burner-for some reason they want to record my messages-one person even said they need to put them on T.V.-go figure) was tested and worked wit hall day, and several came early to get the breakfast ready.

So much goes on behind the scenes. Last week I mentioned there are those who are willing to work in the nursery, clean the church, change the light bulbs, fill the baptistery, and just about anything else that needs doing, while there are those who only want to come in, sit on the pew, and soak up just what  they can get out of it for themselves.

Those who are willing to work, do it out of their love for the Lord and for their brothers and sisters. It doesn’t pay much ($0) but there are treasures in Heaven waiting for them in the future and blessing indescribable right here and now.

I had a very interesting conversation with Linda Jones (she and her husband Johnny are really good folks). She has a vision for Pinson and she recognizes God moving and working, bringing things into place to make things happen. I won’t go into the details here but I will say there is some land surrounding the church that is up for sale or donation. It could fall into the hands of the church. God is at work. There will be more on this later.

We had Grace Baptist Church out tonight for a joint service. They had a young man to baptize and used our baptistery. What a great and fun time of fellowship to have Grace visit.

Just thought I’d throw out an update. I’ll bring more on what all God is bringing into place later.

What does God have for you…just around the corner?
