Amazing Grace

I asked the Lord to take me back to the cross…and He did.

His grace has been brand new to me the past few weeks. A line in a song I sang at a memorial service a few weeks ago, really speaks to what God has been renewing in my life, “No guilt in life, no fear in death”.

Think about it, “no guilt in life”. The blood of Jesus Christ has washed away all our sin. The grace of God takes care of all guilt.

I have been in “revival mode” for the past three years, preaching hell-fire and brimstone, preaching obedience and walking upright in God’s sight. But it is not difficult when we follow God’s formula.

Ephesians 5 tells us to “BE filled with the Spirit…”

Notice he does not say, “May God fill you” or “I pray the Lord fills you”, he says “BE filled”.

It is our responsibility to be filled daily and he goes on in that same passage to tell us exactly how to do that…

Ephesians 5:19-20, Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

What is all that doing? It is keeping Him at the forefront of our minds. And when we do these things and make them a part of our daily lives, then we are walking in the Spirit, and when we walk in the Spirit, we will automatically be obedient (Galatians 5:16, This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh).

Do you still have your joy?
