Throughout scripture, Egypt is symbolic of the world. When God delivered His people from Egypt, it foreshadowed His delivering us from the world. When He delivered His people from the bondage of slavery, it foreshadowed His delivering us from the bondage of sin. The blood of the lamb foreshadowed the blood of THE LAMB! (1Cor. 5:7)
With this in mind, God burdened me with this scripture from Isaiah. Though many years old, it speaks to us today.
1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: 2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! 3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
What is God telling us? Psalm 27:14, Wait on the LORD: be of good courage , and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait , I say, on the LORD.
What does God have for you…just around the corner?
