Repeat the Confession

Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber ...

Just a little something that has been on my mind…Luke 6:48,  He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

“Rock” is stated twice in this verse. It is repeated because it is important. The Lord wants us to understand that we MUST be founded upon the rock.

Using Luke 6: 48 as the example, our “house”, our very life and existence, must be built, constructed, upon the Rock. To do this we must dig deep, deep into God’s Word, deep into prayer, deep into our own motives and intentions, deep into our view of others and how much we do or do not have love and compassion for them.

When we dig deep into God’s Word we find that the Rock that the Church of Jesus Christ is built on is the very confession that Jesus is Lord! (Matthew 16: 16-18). When you think about it, that is the only thing we have to stand on and the only thing we need to stand on for salvation itself.

Why don’t you repeat that a few times today; Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.

1 Corinthians 12:3, Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Praise the Lord!

Psalms 27:6,  And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD.

What does God have for you…just around the corner?
