Are You Ready to go Home?

I apologize for the lack of posts of late.  I have been rather busy.  We celebrated Thanksgiving with the family and after that spent an entire week in Hot Springs, Arkansas for my secular job.  Of course Christmas is coming up and we are looking forward to having our son home from college.  We will get back to our Monday posts on the fall of America soon, please be patient.

Are you ready to go home?  Of course I mean to be with the Lord.  I have preached many times the fact that we don’t know the exact day or hour but we can certainly know the season, and the season is upon us!  Everyone knows it, not just believers but Muslims, Jews, and many others sense the end is near.

How can we know? We have all heard and read these verses…1 Thessalonians 5:2-3, For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

“A thief in the night”… the connotation being that it will sneak up on us unaware! But is everyone unaware and clueless? Keep reading this passage…1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

But us, the brethren, believers, followers of the Lord Jesus Christ who are walking in the light as He is in the light, who are in prayer, study, fellowship, we are not in darkness, we are not clueless, we can watch and know He is coming soon.

Mark 13:35-37, Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping. And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch.

No, we don’t know if He will be coming morning, noon, or night but that doesn’t mean we must be caught off guard, sleeping. Be sober, be alert, watch!

What does God have for you…just around the corner? (Rapture?)
