Praise the Lord

Name some ways to praise the Lord.

How do you praise the Lord?

Our fellowship shared some very good stories Sunday morning. Faith building stories, encouraging stories, brag-on-God stories. As I prayed about what God would have me talk about Sunday night, He laid it upon my heart to talk about the very thing that is contained in the title of this post and the questions listed above.

When asked those questions above, most people will name things like “sing songs to the Lord” or “play music to the Lord”. These are great ways to praise the Lord. The Bible is full of praise to the Lord through songs and music.

It just so happened Sunday night (by the Holy Ghost) that we were all on the same page when I asked these questions. I never dreamed anyone would say the very thing the Lord had laid on my heart to talk about, but some did.

Another way to praise the Lord is exactly what we did after service Sunday morning: share the stories about what God has done in and around us. When we brag on God from sincerely grateful hearts, it blesses God’s heart. That is praise.

Malachi 3:16-17, Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

What does God have for you…just around the corner?
