We talked about this at revival a little the other night: God keeps His promises forever.
Leviticus 26:42, Then will I remember my covenant with Jacob, and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham will I remember; and I will remember the land.
Usually we say that God is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob because chronologically thats how it goes. Notice here He goes backward; Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham. Why is that? Because God is making the point here that He keeps His promises all the way back to when He first made them. The Abrahamic Covenant promises He made 4000 years ago are still just as valid today.
I want you to know that the promises He has made you are still valid, as well.
Philippians 1:6, Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Maybe you have made some mistakes in your life (yes, even since you’ve been saved). Let me ask you this…who hasn’t? God still loves you, in fact, He is crazy about you. The good news is that our security is not in our hands but in His. Titus 3:5, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
Notice back in Philippians, HE began the work in you and HE will perform it, not you, until the day of Jesus Christ (not the day of the Lord which the Bible speaks of in other passages. That is the day of judgement. But the day of Jesus Christ is the day we are all looking for with great anticipation. That is the day He returns to take us home!!!).
What does God have for you…just around the corner?
