He will hear…and forgive

Back to 1 Kings 8. 1 Kings 8:46, If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

If they sin against Thee. IF they sin…IF they sin. Then he clarifies, “for there is no man that sinneth not.” We knew that, didn’t we? For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.

Does God still deliver us into the hands of the enemy? (Think before you answer that one) YES. God loves us so much that He has given us free will to make choices on our own, right or wrong. If we choose to disobey and we sin, God says, “Alright, if that’s what you want, go ahead.” And He allows us to go the way of the enemy.

Wait a minute, who is our enemy? Peter tells us plainly, 1 Peter 5:8, Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

And so with one sin we can find ourselves carried away captive in the land of our enemy. Carried away from God’s presence, carried away from God’s grace, carried away from God’s love and shelter. Like the prodigal son, hopefully we come to our senses, even if it is in the muddy slop of the pig pen, and we go on to verse 47 – 49, Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;  And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name: Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

That is where we need to be, Church. We need to be crying out to God, admitting our sin and returning with our whole heart to the Lord. Just as I said last time, He will hear from Heaven, He will forgive. He will heal.

Lord bless you today.
