Yes I have a warped sense of humor. I couldn’t help but to think of Get Smart and the Cone of Silence when I read this. Please try to put it out of your mind now and let’s get serious… Chief.
Psalms 91:1, He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
A few days ago I talked about going to your secret place, your prayer closet, covered in your tallit, just you and the Lord. There is nothing at all wrong with praying in the car or in the shower or fill in the blank, but nothing…NOTHING (notta, 0, 1-1=0, numero nothingo, the big blank, nil, zilch, naught, vacuum of space) takes the place of quiet, undisturbed, uninterrupted, focused, private time before the Throne of Grace.
Many believers are stressed out, depressed, confused, feel they have lost their fire, their joy, their passion for the Lord, feel they don’t get anything out of prayer, no revelations from His Word, and no vision for their lives.
Why? Their spirits are starving to death for real communion with their Lord. Not the McDonald’s Drive-Through Window type, but the kind that allows you to meditate on His Word without interruption, the kind that allows you to listen for that still, small voice without the noise of the television to distract you, the kind that for the rest of your day (it’s a daily thing) allows you to abide…ABIDE (Wow) under the shadow of the Almighty.
Lord bless you today.
