Time in Prayer

Genesis 32:24-26, And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day.  And when he saw that he prevailed not against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob’s thigh was out of joint, as he wrestled with him. And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me.

So here is the question to ponder in your heart today: when was the last time you wrestled with God, if need be through the entire night, until He blessed you, or until you received an answer you were seeking, or until you knew His will in a given situation, or…you fill in the blank?

Remember when Jesus was in the Garden Of Gethsemane before He had to suffer? He prayed. He actually prayed three times. Why? Why did He go and pray three different times? Because God the Father was not finished with Him.

How many times do we go and pray, say what we have to say, and then  “Amen” and we’re finished? We get up from that prayer with no peace, no answer, no blessing, no release because, though we were finished, God was not finished with us.

Next time you pray…give it some time.

Lord bless you today.
