The Trinity

searchscripturesI’m a little slow and I have to have things on simple terms. Many people struggle with understanding the Trinity. This helps me, I hope it helps you.

Flesh, blood, and bones.

They each serve a distinct purpose but it takes all three to make one of us. (Imagine taking any one of the three away from your body…what mental picture did you get? Ugh!)

I have been asked, “what is one good verse describing the Trinity that I can use to explain to my friends?”. Ok, here we go…GO GET YOUR BIBLE.

1 John 5:7, For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one (Radical Muslims hate this verse! They don’t want proof from your Bible that there is a Trinity).

Three bear record (record: meaning “it is written”, “it is settled”, “it is a done deal”, “end of conversation”)  in Heaven; the Father, the Word (see John chapter 1), and the Holy Ghost (Ta Da, Trinity).

There are also three that bear witness (witness: meaning to testify, to show proof) on the earth, 1 John 5:8, And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.

Where are these three on earth that testify of God? If you are born again…They are IN YOU.

1 John 5:10, He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

These three are a part of a believer. The Spirit (Big “S”) is the Holy Ghost inside you. The water is through baptism and the washing of water daily by the Word, and the blood is the precious blood of the Lamb of God which taketh away the sin of the world and made you (if you’re born again) a new creature in Christ. Old things are past away, behold all things are become new.

Somebody say, “Praise the Lord”!
